PHANTOMS OF FUTURE

See PHANTOMS OF FUTURE live here: Want to book a show? Get in...

THE IDIOTS

CHARGER

CHARGER

visit CHARGER on facebook visit CHARGER on bandcamp Charger is the powerhouse trio that’s been making waves (and a lot of noise) since forming in the East Bay. Andrew McGee plays guitar, Matt Freeman (Rancid, Operation Ivy) sings and plays bass, and Jason Willer (UK Subs, Jello Biafra’s Guantanamo School of Medicine) drums and sings too. Those are names you might recognize if you’re the type of person who reads liner notes to genre-defining albums. Formed in 2018, Charger was much as a musical challenge between a few lifers in the punk scene who wanted to push each other to dig deep into their shared roots, influences, and musical passions, to create something truly exciting. As a result, Charger’s music feels indebted to the giants but not reliant on them. There is plenty of space for growth and innovation within this decades-old blueprint of how to make someone’s heart race and blood pump. Charger stormed out of the gate in 2019 with the release of their self-titled EP on Pirates Press Records, generating both critical and fan acclaim all the while touring with the likes of their labelmates The Old Firm Casuals and also supporting the follow-up single “Watch Your Back.” In 2020, that single was pressed on 12″ UV digitally printed vinyl-making it one of the first digitally printed records in history! To complement “Watch Your Back,” the band hit the studio and churned out another bombastic track, “Stay Down” and that was released as a 12” picture disc. During the pandemic, the band stayed active writing and recording their debut album, Warhorse, at the iconic Atomic Garden Studios with a 2022 release date in mind. Reinvigorated and reenergized after months and months of being locked in writing rooms and recording sessions, Charger are ready to take the stage once again and melt faces! AMENRA

AMENRA

visit AMENRA on facebook visit AMENRA’s website A Belgian extreme metal band that’s as experimental and atmosphere-driven as it is impossibly heavy, Amenra emerged in the early 2000s with a versatile sound rooted in doom, sludge, post-metal, and hardcore punk. Debuting in 2003 with Mass I, the group continued to push at the boundaries of extreme metal with acclaimed efforts like Mass V (2012) and De Doorn (2021). Amenra was formed in 1999 by vocalist Colin H. van Eeckhout and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove. Employing a lethal and often heady blend of doom, post-, and avant-garde metal, the duo eventually expanded into a five-piece with the addition of drummer Bjorn Lebon, guitarist Lennart Bossu, and bassist Levy Seynaeve. Based out of the West Flanders city of Kortrijk, the group issued their debut album, Mass I, in 2003 — each Amenra full-length outing is thought of as a mass and is titled as such. Two years later, they released Mass II and Mass III, and established the Church of Ra, a D.I.Y. collective of like-minded artists and friends with whom they would collaborate on various artistic endeavors and performances. Mass IV arrived in 2008, followed in 2012 by Mass V, and in 2017 by Mass VI, the latter two of which were issued on Neurot Recordings. Stepping away from the decades-long Mass journey, the band inked a deal with Relapse Records and released the transcendent De Doorn in 2021, which included guest vocals from Caro Tanghe of Oathbreaker. MEPHISKAPHELES

visit MEPHISKAPHELES on facebook visit MEPHISKAPHELES’s website Formed in the East Village of New York City in 1991 by a group of punk rockers/artists/ad guys/jazz musicians, Mephiskapheles played its first show on Long Island. From day one, the band began attracting a diverse, dedicated fan base. Sold-out NYC gigs led to tours with the Buzzcocks and GWAR, and hits on the Hawaiian Islands Chart with three singles from the band’s first album, 1994’s God Bless Satan, produced by Bill Laswell. While touring relentlessly, Mephiskapheles followed-up in 1997 with Maximum Perversion, a jazz-influenced work that didn’t take long to be hailed as a classic. A deal in 1999 with Koch Records resulted in the band’s hard-hitting, exploratory third album, Might-Ay White-Ay. The band released the self-titled EP Mephiskapheles in 2015, featuring the single „Satan Stole My Weed,“ an instant classic. The Never Born Again EP, released in 2019, brings the band back full circle to its dark and melodic roots.
