MEPHISKAPHELES

visit MEPHISKAPHELES on facebook visit MEPHISKAPHELES’s website Formed in the East Village of New York City in 1991 by a group of punk rockers/artists/ad guys/jazz musicians, Mephiskapheles played its first show on Long Island. From day one, the band began attracting a diverse, dedicated fan base. Sold-out NYC gigs led to tours with the Buzzcocks and GWAR, and hits on the Hawaiian Islands Chart with three singles from the band’s first album, 1994’s God Bless Satan, produced by Bill Laswell. While touring relentlessly, Mephiskapheles followed-up in 1997 with Maximum Perversion, a jazz-influenced work that didn’t take long to be hailed as a classic. A deal in 1999 with Koch Records resulted in the band’s hard-hitting, exploratory third album, Might-Ay White-Ay. The band released the self-titled EP Mephiskapheles in 2015, featuring the single „Satan Stole My Weed,“ an instant classic. The Never Born Again EP, released in 2019, brings the band back full circle to its dark and melodic roots. Fronted by lead singer Invidious aka the Nubian Nightmare, along with the hottest rhythm section in New York, and the Horns of Hell, Mephiskapheles spreads its evil seed with an ongoing reissue program, epic shows, and new music out now. SOFT KILL

visit SOFT KILL on facebook visit SOFT KILL’s bandcamp website One of the bands defining the sound of 2010s post-punk, Portland’s Soft Kill began as standard-bearers before taking their music to anthemic heights. Grounded by the cavernous vocals and cathartic lyrics of Tobias Sinclair, over the years the band moved from the raw intimacy of 2011’s An Open Door, which updated the sounds of post-punk legends like the Chameleons, The Sound, and Joy Divison, to 2018’s Savior, which set songs about real-life hardships to widescreen sounds inspired by U2, Tom Petty and The Replacements. WUCAN

visit WUCAN on facebook visit WUCAN’s website visit WUCAN’s english EPK website visit WUCAN’s german EPK website Putting music with a driving force and lots of personality on the map and while doing so, taking inspiration from all sorts of genres, Wucan can easily be interpreted as a Hard Rock, Acid Folk, Psychedelic Rock or Blues band that bundles these different influences in an electrifying way under the term HEAVY FLUTE ROCK. Psychedelic riffs, progressive song structures and, not least through Tobolsky’s flute play, reoccuring elements of folk, enchanted critics and fans alike, resulting in the strictly limited edition vinyl EP “Vikarma” to be sold out in no time. Promptly Wucan found themselves on festivals such as the infamous Hammer of Doom and in the role of a live support band for Swedish blues rockers Siena Root in 2015, strengthening their reputation as an explosive and passionate live band. With the release of their debut full-length album “Sow The Wind”in late 2015, Wucan trespassed the verge from being an insider’s tip to becoming a celebrated newcomer. “Sow The Wind” is an energetic heavy rock statement, which, despite all directness, does not consider itself above wonderous krautrock-esque extravaganza. The 16-minutes masterpiece “Wandersmann” takes the listener on a journey through the band’s complete musical and emotional spectrum, celebrating the influences of funk, hard rock, folk and kraut rock, while taking a deep-dive into hindu philosophy by quoting the Bhagavad Gita- all in German… who does that these days? The force of nature that Wucan present on stage is supposed to reflect in their second album, for whose recordings the band locked themselves up in the Big Snuff Studios Berlin (recorded and mixed artists like Kadavar, Heat, Blues Pills, Samsara Blues Experiment). Even stronger than the previous album it honours what Wucan promis in their live performance: a strikingly massive rock sound, clear and naturally organic at the same time. Familiar progressive structures and Wucan’s typical flute-driven hmyns now meet compact heavy metal pieces such as “Out of Sight, Out of Mind”, which reflects the band’s endeavour to combine different influences to one great, unique force of Rock and Roll. The band is ready to reap the whirlwind they have sown, and spread it over those, whose hearts beat for honest and original music.
